Welcome to Boy Scout Troop 62 — scouting for 80 great years!

Our troop welcomes all boys, ages 11-17, who want to follow the Eagle Trail. Boys can join Scouting at any time, regardless of their background or experience.

Meetings - We meet 7:15 - 9:00 p.m. every Thursday that school is in session, at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 99 Sand Hill Road, South Windsor

On Thursday, 5/24, we will meet at First Congregational Church at 993 Main Street in South Windsor, 6:30 pm, to lay Flags. We will then proceed to St. Peter's for our regular troop meeting, which will feature Order of the Arrow (OA) Elections. All current OA members are encouraged to wear their OA sashes for the troop meeting.

  • Memorial Day Parade - May 28, Meet 9:15am on South Satellite Road, Step at 10:00 am, Ceremony at VMP 11:00 am

    Reminder that Troop 62 will be marching in the South Windsor Memorial Day Parade. Marchers will gather on S Satellite Road between 9:15 and 9:30. The parade steps off at 10am, travels down Nutmeg Road South, then on Pleasant Valley Rd, finishing at Veterans Memorial Park. Parents may meet their scout at VMP, or march with the Troop beginning on Satellite Road. The roads along the parade route will close between 9:30 and 9:45, and parking is available along the side streets off Pleasant Valley Rd, or the businesses along Nutmeg Rd S. There will be an honor ceremony at VMP following the parade, beginning approximately 11 am.

  • St. Peter's Spring Clean-Up - Jun 2, 8am to 11am

    The St. Peter's Spring Clean-Up has been rescheduled for Saturday, June 2. We will do our Good Turn and give back to St. Peter's Church. Please bring some rakes for grass and dirt, and a few shovels, and wear clothes that may be ok for paint splatter. If the weather holds we'll paint the tool shed, and rake out all the leaves from under the trees and shrubs.

  • June Campout to Aquapaug Scout Reservation and Airshow - Jun 8-10

    Join the troop to see the Blue Angels at the Rhode Island Airshow. The troop will camp at Aquapaug Scout Reservation in RI. The scouts will cook in their patrols. Reservations are due by May 31. Please see the FLYER for trip info. Please see the FLYER for trip info.


  • Summer Camp preparations are in full swing!!!
    ***Please see the following links for the Summer Camp Check List, and "What Should My Son Pack For Summer Camp". Please read through it completely as it has key dates and times as well as things to consider for your scout to have an enjoyable time at Camp Hinds.     • BSA Youth Protection Training Available Online

      The BSA National Council has made Youth Protection Training available online. Completion of this training is essentially required for all adult leaders, since National and Local BSA tour (travel) permits will soon require that at least one adult leader on each trip have this training. This is a comprehensive, high-quality training seminar, dealing with a difficult subject in a professional manner. All adult leaders are required to take this training.
